I Am So Not a Pilgrim

Today, on this walking trip in Spain, I did not even walk the five miles I normally walk at home. It wasn’t so much the cold – as I mentioned there was a possibility of snow – it was the rain, and its corresponding wet feet, fogged glasses and lack of scenery. However, true pilgrims did walk, and with giant packs on their backs and clever fixes against the wet. I crocheted, bought presents, drank tea and then the local red wine. Weather in the upcoming days is supposed to be better, which is very good news since I am coming up on the last 100 kilometers of the Camino, which must be walked in order to qualify for the Camino completion certificate, a thing I am debating whether to go for. Like I said, I so am not an equal to the authentic walking pilgrims, and not sure I deserve any recognition. We’ll see.

Highlight of the trip? The delightful wines!

Live all you can. It’s a mistake not to.
